Are you passionate about bridging the gap between academic research and the public?

Manchester Metropolitan University Library & Cultural Services is seeking a dynamic and innovative Public Engagement with Research Manager to join our Open Research team. In this newly created position, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of public engagement, promoting the university's research to diverse audiences, and driving positive change.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and delivering inclusive public engagement events and activities.
  • Collaborating with local and national partners to expand the reach of our research.
  • Providing expertise and guidance to researchers on effective public engagement strategies.
  • Working closely with academic, Library, and Research & Innovation colleagues to enhance the impact of Manchester Met research.
  • Line managing a Public Engagement with Research Coordinator, ensuring their success and development.

    You will join a passionate and empowered team (we are small but mighty!), and an innovative and evolving library service. 2024-25 is an excellent time to join us, as we prepare for our Library Transformation Programme (LTP) and look ahead to a and reimagined service.

    It is also an exciting time for research; with excellent REF results and an effective and impactful , we are driving institutional change in open research and research culture.
