Research Assistant – Laboratory (part-time)
About the role
This very exciting opportunity for a laboratory scientist has arisen within the Eleftheriou lab at UCL GOS ICH. Working with Post-Doctoral Research Associates, and the clinical team this post holder will support pathogenesis and precision medicine studies of autoinflammation. The role will involve cell culture, flow cytometry, and handling some animals for in vivo experiment as well as some laboratory support duties . The main responsibilities of the postholder will be to expand and maintain stocks of iPSC lines, perform quality control of iPSC to maintain the high quality cell lines, and the culture and differentiation of iPSC into neurons, glia and organoids
About you
The post holder should hold an honours degree or above in a biomedical or related subject. They will have experience working in a laboratory, and have experience of processing and storage of human immunological samples, multi-colour flow cytometric analysis and/or cell culture . Experience of animal model characterization or stem cell differentiation is desirable. The individual will be highly motivated to succeed in research, have excellent time management, organizational and communication skills, be prepared to work to tight deadlines and in an independent manner. They will need the ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team at UCL, and with our collaborating partners.
