About the role

The post holder will be working as part of a team to develop 3D Vascular Model for Microsurgery training with our Hospital Partner. The successful candidate will work on a strategic series of experiments that will form the basis for the development and optimisation of bioprinting process with selected materials, their detailed characterisation and testing. You will need to work closely with colleagues from within our lab as well as with collaborators throughout London, so excellent teamwork and communication skills will be required.

Project is funded by NC3R. Microsurgery training is compulsory for specialties like Maxillofacial, Vascular, and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery, where advanced microsurgery skills are required. However, long waiting lists at TGI, driven by the high costs and logistical complexities of live animal courses, are impeding surgeons' career progression. Implementing an effective alternative model could alleviate waiting times, reduce costs, and address ethical concerns, thus enhancing

About you

Applications are invited for a Research Assistant in Bioprinting research for 6 months (full-time), on the 3D Vascular Model as A Platform for micro surgical training tool.
The successful candidate must have a Master’s degree in medicine,(PhD is essential for G7) Biomedical Sciences or equivalent experience.
Experience in use of 3D Bioprinting equipment’s and optimisation.
Technical writing and presentation skills (write device specifications, operation manuals).
Hand of experience in bioink formulations.
