Research Assistant - Salford

We are seeking a Research Assistant with qualitative research expertise to join a team undertaking the most comprehensive UK-wide study of social security and devolution funded by the Nuffield Foundation.  The project – Safety nets: Social security for families in a devolved UK  – is led by the University of York and brings together a large multi-disciplinary team from academia, lived experience and policy making.

At Salford, the role sits within the School of Health and Society , in the Centre for Research on Inclusive Society  (CRIS), which seeks to advance knowledge on inclusive policies and practices, informing policy development and social change. As a research assistant within this Centre, you would be part of a vibrant research community, with opportunities to attend regular seminars and events.

The research assistant will join a team that is delivering a workstream focusing on local discretionary welfare provision in case study areas across the UK. The post holder will be responsible for supporting desk-based analysis, qualitative interviews, and analysis and write up of data. The findings of this research will provide a valuable resource for policymakers and practitioners.

This post is offered on a fixed term contract for 14 months as 0.6 FTE.
