The purpose of this role will be to have specific responsibility for research, for developing research objectives and proposals for a research project in the Vaccine Response On Off Methotrexate (VROOM) Study and the monitoring of inflammatory conditions study. You will be expected to plan and conduct work using approaches or methodologies and techniques appropriate to the type of research and will be responsible for writing up your work for publication.

You will be responsible for aiding the wider implementation of research findings from the VROOM study and monitoring of inflammatory conditions study in the UK. You will develop and implement dissemination strategy with input from patients and clinicians. Both studies were funded by the NIHR.

This is a dynamic role funded by the NIHR in which you will be expected to interact with the NHS, charitable organisations, and healthcare decision makers to ensure the findings of the VROOM study and monitoring of inflammatory conditions reaches patients and health professionals. The work will involve producing patient focussed summaries, working with web-developers and multi-media developers to make the findings available to patients and the NHS. There will be an emphasis on collaborative working and working with patient and public involvement volunteers.

You will join an established team, led by Professor Abhishek, whose main areas of research interest include vaccinations in immunocompromised, pragmatic clinical trials and epidemiology.

You will have the opportunity to use your initiative and creativity to identify areas for research, develop research methods and extend your research portfolio.

The role is offered on a fixed-term basis and will be available for 12 months. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours); however, applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week).
