Research Associate – Nigeria in the Antimicrobial Eras Project

We are recruiting an ambitious, self-motivated Research Associate to join Dr Adetiba’s Wellcome Trust funded research group examining the historiography and anthropology of global health research, focusing on revealing ambivalences in national health institutions’ roles and activities in global antimicrobial resistance campaigns, specifically how Nigeria has responded in the production and use of antibiotics since the 1950s.

The successful candidate will participate in the key phases of the research activities, including conducting of interviews and archival research in Nigeria and the United Kingdom, writing of research papers, and presenting of research findings to academic and non-academic audiences

Applicants must have, or be about to obtain, a relevant PhD (or equivalent) in history with specialist knowledge of healthcare in Africa.

There is potential for the post to be renewable for an additional year, subject to funding.
