Research Associate
We are currently looking for a Research Associate to join a leading Pharmaceutical company based in the Berkshire area. As the you will be responsible for joining a Target Validation and Tractability team and perform a variety of mammalian cell culture assays, including flow cytometry, high content imaging, ELISA, MSD, Western blotting, qPCR, cloning and transfection / siRNA / CRISPR gene-editing.
Please note you need to be available to interview via MS Teams at short notice (Interviews taking place on Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th October).
This is an initial 12 month contract, with likely extension and this role would be well suited to a recent graduate with experience from a placement in industry.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your duties as the Research Associate will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1. As the Research Associate, you will perform drug tractability and validation experiments in in vitro models of cellular senescence, such as testing of compounds, gain of function/loss of function assays, cell culture, flow cytometry, imaging, ELISA, and other techniques. Generating and critically assessing data to support go/no-go new target decisions.
2. As the Research Associate, you will contribute to novel target identification initiatives, performing in silico analysis of internal and external datasets, literature searching and functional assays.
3. As the Research Associate, you will present data, informing project decision points, and supporting projects across the organisation.
4. As the Research Associate, you will have the opportunity to perform Data Analysis and work with Bioinformatics based approaches / using R.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Research Associate we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
1. Relevant degree in a Pharmaceutical or biological science related discipline (BSc or MSc).
2. Proven experience in target Validation, Tractability or Assessment, as well as used mammalian cell culture techniques.
3. A working knowledge and practical experience with Data Analysis, Bioinformatics and R would be highly Desirable.
