Location: Mottisfont Court, Winchester

 

Salary: Scale 5, £27,789 - £29,874 per annum (plus £1250 market supplement)

 

Hours: 37 hours per week

 

Contract: Permanent

As a Researcher you will be supporting the challenges facing Hampshire and IOW to achieve our goal of making ‘You, Your Family, and Our Communities Safer’. Policing challenges are constant and ever evolving and Hampshire continue to strengthen the trust of all our communities through our delivery of fair, thorough, transparent and ethical policing.

 

We are looking for a researcher to work within our Corporate Analysis team. The successful candidate will work on both quantitative and qualitative research covering a range of work across all areas of policing from crime affecting Hampshire’s streets, insights into our organisation, understanding how we Police our communities ethically and effectively, as well as demand on our resources. It is about researching, identifying, collecting, assessing and interpreting a range of information sources, to deliver valuable and influential research to tackle threat, risk and harm.

 

Flexibility and creativity in your thinking are key, as is a keen interest in data and taking ownership to develop and learn a variety of new topics. You will be part of a multi-facetted team, where you will need good collaboration and negotiation skills, plus a talent for communicating clearly and concisely

Essential Qualifications

Educated to QCF Level 2 (5 passes to include English language and Maths) OR work experience deemed to have brought the post holder to a comparable level.

Essential Experience

Experience of researching and collating data 

 

Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to produce accurate and timely reports 

 

Demonstrate a basic understanding of research processes and techniques 

 

Ability to use own initiative and possessing good time management skills 

 

Proven experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite 

 

Good literacy and numeracy skills
