We are seeking a Senior Research Manager to manage the commissioning, understanding and analysis of research in the field of education, school systems and the teaching profession. Youll ensure the NEU is at the cutting edge of data analysis and technology in order to forward our campaigning, negotiating and political aims and to achieve influence and impact for the NEU. You will develop and implement strategies that make innovative use of research, data and data analysis in departments across the organisation.
We need to see demonstrable experience in the field of educational research, and a sophisticated ability to analyse and interpret research data, including data and evidence from the NEUs membership, and within the context of seeking to re-assert teacher professionalism. The Union needs to draw on evidence and research to influence government and employer policy and we seek someone with drive, creativity and innovation. You will manage a team of researchers and will need to evidence the ability to empower and motivate others. Excellent written and communication skills will be core to success in the role.
Prospective applicants are also advised that your normal place of work will be the NEU office specified in this advert and that the NEU operates Blended Working Arrangements for office-based staff, which means you will typically need to be based in the designated NEU office for 3 days a week (based on a full-time contract), with the remaining days based at home, and subject to business needs.
In addition to salary, we offer good conditions including 35 days annual leave plus Christmas closure days and a generous pension scheme. Salary and benefits will be offered pro-rata for part-time applicants.
