We are currently seeking an experienced, senior researcher to join ourteam at RTI Health Solutions (RTI-HS) in Europe. As a PCOA researcher at RTI-HS, you will be working as part of a small team in all aspects of patient-centered research to support pharmaceutical clients to incorporate patient experience data in the drug development process.

With a team of over 400 staff, based in our European and North American offices, RTI-HS provides multidisciplinary project expertise in Health Economics, Patient-Centered Outcomes Assessment, Surveys and Observational Studies, Medical Statistics, Health Preference Assessment, Epidemiology, Risk Management, and Market Access.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an established senior researcher to design and manage a full range of patient-centred outcomes projects, from the initial receipt of request for proposal, through project application, project completion and successful sign off. Specific roles and responsibilities may include:

  • Designing and leading qualitative studies conducted with patients, caregivers, patient advocates and clinical key opinion leaders (stand alone or in-trial studies).
  • Developing and adapting outcome measures for completion by patients, caregivers and clinicians.
  • Interpreting published literature in clinical and health outcomes.
  • Reviewing and appraising the development and psychometric quality of COAs.
  • Developing COA strategies to optimise the collection of patient centred evidence across the drug development lifecycle, to support engagement by pharmaceutical sponsors with regulators, reimbursement authorities and healthcare providers for pharmaceutical products.
  • Provision of regulatory guidance and support, including the development of evidence dossiers and briefing books.
  • Preparing and reviewing scientific reports for submission to clients.
  • Leading dissemination of research via scientific publications and presentations at scientific meetings
  • Providing strong and knowledgeable leadership to project groups and individual research staff to support knowledge transfer and skills development, including the mentoring of junior staff members.
  • Keeping up-to-date on methodological advances in research design methods and skills.
  • Writing and reviewing proposals.
  • Participating in business development activities, including meeting with prospective clients and identifying strategic opportunities for business development.

  • Qualifications

  • A postgraduate Masters level degree plus a minimum of 12 years of experience conducting patient-centered research, or a PHD plus a minimum of 8 years experience conducting patient-centered research 
  • Be an established COA researcher with a proven track record in the field
  • Experience of designing and leading research studies to support patient-centred drug development for pharmaceutical clients
  • Experience leading or contributing to scientific publications
  • Self-motivation with the ability to deliver high quality research within planned deadlines
  • A clear and committed team-based attitude to project work
