Sessional Lecturer BTEC Level 3 Applied Law/ Criminology
The School of Foundation, Intermediate Learning & Employability at Kingston College are seeking a Sessional Lecturer to teach BTEC Level 3 Applied Law/Criminology.
The role will commence in April 2025, to teach WJEC Level 3 applied certificate in Criminology. This lesson is taught on a Tuesday.There is the ability to increase this teaching to teach the Applied diploma from August 2025. The working day for this would be a Monday. This qualification is taught as part of the Level 3 Criminology study programme.
You will develop and implement student assessment strategies in accordance with college policies and the requirements of awarding bodies and participate fully in professional development including lesson observation, undertaking of training or re-training and the acquisition of essential qualifications. You will be an active course team member and participate fully in meetings, in-service training sessions, etc. in addition to teaching and administrative responsibilities and keep up to date with Quality Improvement initiatives and to be aware of, and meet, service standards for the school.
We would like you to hold a degree or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject, hold a teaching qualification (or willing to work towards) and have excellent teaching skills with recent and relevant continuous professional development. With awareness of academic quality standards, you will have high personal standards and expectations with energy, enthusiasm and passion for the subject and education.
Able to use new technologies to enhance teaching and learning and able to support, motivate and empathise with learners including monitoring their progress, you will have good planning, preparation, organisational and administrative skills, with good attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure and to agreed deadlines.
