Job Title: Work Start Employability Lecturer

Type: Full-Time,

Location: Uxbridge

Salary: £32,000 - £46,000

Start Date: ASAP


MLK Education Search are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Work Start Employability Lecturer. The Lecturer will be responsible for managing and directing teaching teams and ensuring effective, learner-centred learning opportunities to meet the needs of adults with special educational needs. This will include working in consultation with carers and colleagues from other disciplines



Key Responsibilities:

  • Effective Planning: Teach/learn within work and employment curriculum areas.
  • Assessment & Evaluation: Implement assessment, objective setting, recording, reporting, and evaluation of educational programs.
  • Student Learning: Ensure learning experiences meet individual/group needs, promoting progression and quality.
  • Teaching Styles: Use varied teaching styles and communicate clear objectives.
  • Classroom Management: Employ strategies for a purposeful teaching/learning environment.
  • Stimulating Environment: Organise and maintain a suitable work environment.
  • Safeguarding: Commit to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
  • Resource Management: Ensure teaching/learning materials are organised and available.
  • Ethos Commitment: Uphold Orchard Hill College and Academy Trust's ethos, promoting positive staff-student relationships.
  • Employability Skills: Teach employability skills, including planning, CVs, interviews, and job matching.
  • Functional Skills: Support delivery of maths and English functional skills.
  • Accredited Teaching: Teach and assess accredited qualifications.
  • Team Management: Effectively manage and supervise team members, including volunteers and visitors.
  • Meetings: Participate in internal/external meetings (lecturers, staff, EHCP reviews, support, teaching team).
  • Appraisals: Conduct appraisals for the teaching team.
  • Staff Development: Engage in staff development and contribute to strategy identification.
  • Representation: Represent Orchard Hill College and Academy Trust at meetings, conferences, and visitor receptions.


Requirements:

  • Diploma in Education and Training (DET) or alternative teaching qualification.
  • Experience in delivering good or outstanding Functional Skills and employability lessons from Entry level to Level 2.
  • Experience working to meet Awarding Organisations’ standards Recent experience of teaching students with special education needs and barriers to learning
