Job Title: Animal Management Lecturer

Location: Angel, London

Contract Type: Part-Time

Start Date: 9th September 2024

Hours: 24 hours per week

Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Animal Management Lecturer to join an FE College based in Angel. This part-time role involves teaching animal management courses on the BTEC framework NQF at levels 1, 2, and 3. The ideal candidate will be competent in BTEC assessments, standardisation, and internal verification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective teaching on topics including animal behaviour, human and animal interactions, feed, cleaning, and managing husbandry of animals.
  • Create assignment briefs and assessment materials.
  • Conduct assessments and participate in standardisation and internal verification processes.
  • Use Information and Learning Technology (ILT) including interactive whiteboards, EBS, and Promonitor.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to meet targets and deadlines.
  • Communicate clearly both in writing and verbally.
  • Support learners and ensure adherence to safeguarding regulations and college policies.
  • Manage student behaviour effectively.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in an animal-related subject.
  • A recognized teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience in teaching animal-related subjects.
  • Competence in using ILT tools such as interactive whiteboards, EBS, and Promonitor.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and deliver against targets.
  • Understanding of safeguarding regulations and college policies.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with BTEC assessments, standardisation, and internal verification.
  • Ability to create engaging and effective teaching materials.
  • Knowledge of current educational practices and methodologies in animal management.
