Assistant professor of Numerical Analysis

Ca’ Foscari invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor of Numerical Analysis.

Ca’ Foscari is looking for an assistant professor of numerical analysis capable of inspiring students to become game-changers in their own fields and to make a genuine difference in the world. 

The teaching activity will focus on general framework of applied mathematics and computation, as well as Calculus in first year’s basic courses.

In particular, the assistant professor will teach in the following courses:

Analisi Matematica 1 e 2, Algebra Lineare, Numerical Methods.

The planned research activity will bring additional expertise in the solutions of partial differential equations and applied mathematics and computation. Particular importance will be given to candidates with a proven record of successful collaborations with researchers in different disciplines such as Natural Science, Engineering and Biomedicine, especially if supported by a good background in big data, artificial intelligence and complex systems, and by possible collaborations within the other Departmental scientific activities, in line with the Departmental Strategic Plan.

The position is at the Department of Molecular Sciences and Nanosystems. The Department aims to stimulate research development and scientific education and is characterized by its research in innovative fields. The Department also interacts with local manufacturing firms and businesses, given the importance of its research on sustainability themes. The education focuses on both established research areas and more innovative ones like renewable energy sources, green chemistry, nanotechnologies and biotechnologies. 

The educational pathways offered by the Department are designed to implement the strong interaction between the university and the job market, using a blend of traditional methods and new Lifelong Learning projects (LLP).
