About this role

The University of Chichester is seeking a passionate and experienced ELT Teacher Trainer and ELT Teacher to become part of our professional, committed, and student-focused academic community.

In this role, you will support the International Short Programme Unit by providing ELT teacher training for overseas in-service primary teachers of English from South Korea. Additionally, you will facilitate short programmes for undergraduate students from Japanese and Kurdistan universities, focusing on intensive language development and cultural studies.

These exciting and dynamic courses will initially take place during the summer (July to September), offering a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the education and development of international students and teachers.

About you

We are looking for a dedicated professional with a strong background in ELT Teacher Training for Young Learners and English Language Teaching at the University level. Your expertise should include:

  • Proven experience in delivering primary ELT methodology, professional language development for the classroom, and cultural studies.
  • Holding a CELTA or TEFL certificate (or equivalent) and an MA/MEd in ELT or a related field.
  • Experience working with Korean, Japanese and West Asian teachers and students is advantageous.
  • Your teaching should be driven by a blend of practical experience and research, ensuring high-quality learning and teaching. Additionally, you should have experience in utilising technology to enhance student learning, assessment, and feedback.
