Clinical Senior Lecturer in Diabetes

The Department of Metabolism, Digestion and Reproduction invites applications for a full-time, Clinical Senior Lecturer position in Diabetes and will hold an honorary contract as a Consultant Physician in Metabolic Medicine, Diabetes or relevant speciality with Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The postholder will be expected to work closely with the academic lead for Medicine at Chelsea and Westminster Campus, Professor Jonathan Valabhji, and will work closely with the Department, Faculty of Medicine and the Trust to increase academic activity on campus. We seek applicants with a record of excellence in areas such as the prevention of type 2 diabetes.
Duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate is expected to enhance both new and existing research themes on the Chelsea and Westminster Campus and will have a focus on diabetes. It is expected that the postholder will have a proven track record at both an academic and clinical level. It is expected that the postholder will lead research in the field of Diabetes and in the evolving field of Multiple Long-Term Conditions, working closely with other academics and researchers within the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism, as well as developing collaborations more widely across the Faculty of Medicine. The postholder will work in a vibrant environment and will be expected to undertake undergraduate and graduate teaching responsibilities in this broad area, with opportunities for leadership roles within education.
