Your Team ResponsibilitiesThe Integrity team within MSCI Carbon Markets conducts in-depth independent assessments of the integrity of carbon projects to provide more transparency on the quality of carbon credits and help buyers and investors to overcome their key challenges in buying carbon credits. Through developing methodological frameworks for assessing project integrity and then reviewing and evaluating projects against that framework, the Integrity team aims to push the carbon markets to solve the key integrity challenges that it still faces.Your Key ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities • Acting as a technical expert within MSCI carbon markets on carbon removal, energy and engineered technologies • Working closely with our carbon projects integrity assessment team to design and implement methodologies to assess and understand CDR and energy-related carbon crediting projects • Analysing key market, academic and policy dynamics across CDR/energy-related carbon project types, staying up-to-date with the most recent developments • Communicating insights both internally and externally, including speaking in occasional webinars / client meetings, and the writing of regular reportsYour skills and experience that will help you excelQualifications and Experience • Higher degree (Masters or PhD) in engineering, environmental sciences, or a related field. • 2+ years' work experience in industry, research, consulting, carbon markets, or financial sector. • Demonstrated responsibility for the delivery of reports, briefings, or other outputs. • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office programmes. Some experience in Python, PowerBI and/or SQL a bonus. • Demonstrable passion for tackling climate change and keen interest in carbon markets and the role that they could play in facilitating the transition to net zero.
