HE Lecturer Game Art

University Campus Doncaster is seeking to recruit a full time member of staff to teach on its FdA / BA (Hons) Game Development programme. The post is fixed term until 31st August 2025.

You should have experience of teaching on under-graduate Game Development programmes of study and be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of innovative teaching strategies appropriate to this subject area.

Successful candidates will ideally hold a Masters level qualification in Game Development or related subject area and possess a teaching qualification or be a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Although not mandatory, it would be beneficial to have experience within the Games industry or associated industry. 

You will be required to teach various modules across the programme including Game Art Fundamentals; Material Synthesis; Advanced 3D Modelling; Specialist Game Art.

Essential to the role is advanced proficiency in the following specialist workflows: DCC (3DSMax, Maya, Blender); texture authoring for unique assets (Substance Painter, Quixel, Mari, Photoshop); synthesis of tileable materials (Substance Designer, Quixel Mixer); material / shader synthesis in Unreal Engine 4/5; UV pipelines for game assets; game development pipelines for prop and environment art; lighting and composition for game environments.
