If so we could have the ideal junior role for you to learn about how to produce award winning live coverage and podcasts.

Radio 5 Live is BBC Radio’s home of breaking news and live sports coverage, bringing its audience major news stories and sports events as they happen, along with programming designed to inform, entertain and involve.
In this role you’ll work collaboratively with colleagues in the team and across the wider BBC to help deliver agenda-setting sport journalism to audiences across the BBC.
Main Responsibilities
You’ll have the opportunity to work on our audio coverage of Premier League, WSL, European Club football and the major men’s and women’s international tournaments. Six Nations rugby, Grand Slam tennis and golf Majors are also likely to feature. When it comes to making podcasts you’ll be vital to the team that produces the Football Daily and other sporting podcasts among the biggest in the industry. You’ll need to show a passion for sport and learn how to edit audio. You will need to communicate effectively with reporters and producers and work closely with the production team before, during and after the production of output. You’ll be expected to come up with ideas, stories and treatments for programmes and digital platforms as well as contributing to the creative treatment of an item or programme. You may be asked to support the production of a specific sport throughout the year your contract, working closely with the whole 5 Live Sport team. Delivering to tight deadlines while maintaining high editorial standards is part of the job. You will be able to work flexibly to deliver live sport programmes from around the world and throughout the day and night. At all times you will carry out duties in accordance with the BBC health and safety policy. Production and editorial guidance will be offered across platforms.

Have demonstrable experience in radio or online journalism, including the ability to identify key ideas, debates and issues within sport. Have a proven ability to work well within a team as well as on own initiative. Have a proven ability Able to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people. Have an understanding of how individual differences can benefit the BBC and a commitment to improving diversity in the BBC. Have effective planning and organising skills, delivering consistently to deadlines and reacting positively to changes and conflicting priorities. Have a proven ability to locate relevant sources of information, contributors, guests and other assets using initiative, perseverance and persuasion and an extensive contact base. You will have the ability to establish rapport quickly with a wide range of people within and outside the BBC.
