Lewisham College require a dedicated, enthusiastic and qualified person to take on the role of Lecturer in Drama.

The main responsibilities of this role include the delivery and assessment of high-quality learning programmes in Performing Arts across a range of levels of further education, as well as undertaking a range of programme leadership, tutorial and programme administration duties.

Successful applicants would have Performing Arts industry vocational experience including at least two of the following. Devising site specific, voice, singing, acting, community theatre and TIE. The successful candidate will also have an extensive understanding and experience of; improvisation, devising and the direction of performance works.

This post requires a strong background in the teaching of UAL or BTEC Performing Arts specifications level 2 and 3, pastoral care and a successful candidate will have a proven track record of effective professional/vocational experience in the Further Education sector. 

In addition, a successful applicant will be able to demonstrate strong professional links with employers in the Creative industries and should have the ability and motivation to develop links between employers and course delivery

The candidate must be qualified to honours degree level (Level 6) or qualified to the industry-recognised standard in a relevant field, hold a post-16 teaching qualification and English and maths qualifications at level 2, or be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe.  It is desirable that the candidate has experience of effective programme leadership in FE and has a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment practice.

An ability to self-manage workload, meet deadlines alongside strong oral and written communication skills and good IT skills are also essential. The hours of work will be flexible and may include evening and weekends according to demand.
