Postdoctoral - Cardiac Regeneration (Microscopy) (M/ F)

Publicerad 2025-03-31

Institut Curie is a major player in the research and fight against cancer. It consists of a Hospital group and a Research Center of more than 1000 employees with a strong international objective of the Research Center is to develop basic research and to use the knowledge produced to improve the diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutics of cancers as part of the continuum between basic research and innovation serving the patient.

We are looking for a highly motivated and productive post-doctoral fellow to join our team “Mechanisms of Cardiac Regeneration” headed by Phong NGUYEN (), at Institut Curie, Paris, France. Our research interests focus on uncovering the factors and mechanisms that allow the zebrafish heart to naturally recover and regenerate from an injury.

The project

Our lab has recently developed an optimized method to maintain and image injured cardiac tissue from the adult zebrafish over an extended time period. As a result, we are now able to visualize and track live cell behaviours and their interactions, with their environment in a 3D context. These observations are further tested genetically with the use of gain- and loss-of-function methods. By focusing on specific aspects of regeneration, this project will uncover novel mechanisms on how the zebrafish can naturally and successfully regenerate its heart. This project will be supported by FRM (Foundation pour la Recherche Médicale) and Labex DEEP.
