About the role
Duties and responsibilities
We invite applications for a part-time (80% FTE) Research Assistant working on the Interpreter Training research project.
After identifying programmes for training interpreters / improving dementia diagnostic processes in minority ethnic groups, we will engage a range of stakeholders across different European countries, presenting the interpreter training materials and interviewing them about their opinions. The training materials are then translated and adapted across different countries and iteratively developed in partnership with stakeholders. The adapted training materials will be piloted with ten interpreters and obtain feedback about their experiences.
Appointment details:
The post is graded on the UCL Grade 6b Pay Scale, the salary for which ranges from £30,.60 - £32,.80 (80% FTE), including London Allowance, (£38, to £41, full time equivalent). The appointment is available from 1st May and is funded for 21 months in the first instance. Any offer of employment will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. You will have some previous research experience, and experience with older people, including those with dementia. This is a developmental role and would be particularly suitable for someone seeking a career in mental health research. You will contribute to all aspects of the study with support from the study team, including: recruitment, the collection of social cognition data, video-recordings, and mobile phone app data, analysis, liaising with clinical services and staff, and writing up and disseminating study findings.
