The purpose of this role will be to have specific responsibility for developing research objectives, database building and quantitative analysis for evaluating the social and economic impact of HGI’s sustainable innovation and inclusive entrepreneurship programmes. 

HGI, at Nottingham University Business School, is a leading centre for research, education and practice in entrepreneurship and innovation. The Institute provides a programme of world class entrepreneurship education with the aim of developing the innovators and entrepreneurs of the future. Academic staff at HGI are engaged in a range of research activities including entrepreneurship education, inclusive entrepreneurship and sustainable innovation. HGI actively translates this research evidence into practical outcomes to generate impact upon entrepreneurial activity in society. This is manifest locally within the Ingenuity lab which supports students, alumni and early career researchers to realise their entrepreneurial aspirations. At a global level, HGI hosts high profile innovation competitions including the YES programmes for early career researchers and technicians and the annual Ingenuity programme for students, alumni, and local communities of the international campuses to address the Sustainable Development Goals (). 

The person appointed will be expected to plan and conduct research using quantitative methods, which include recognised experimental approaches, methodologies and techniques, linking, extending and building upon existing datasets. They will be able to integrate various interdisciplinary research strands by enabling and coordinating collaborations with internal and external stakeholders. Applicants will be encouraged to collaborate with HGI academic colleagues on areas of shared interest, for example, grant development, collaborative journal publications and policy engagement events.

The post is offered on a fixed term contract for 2 years. Hours of work arefull-time (36.25 hours per week) ; however applications are also welcome fromcandidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week). Pleasespecify in your application if you wish to work part time and the number ofpreferred hours.
