This post is full time, 35 hours per week and is fixed term until 31 August 2025 We are seeking an experienced Researcher Development Manager to join the Research and Knowledge Exchange Office (RKEO) in a leading role to deliver our University commitments on the priority area of researcher development.The RKEO is a key partner in enabling the University’s Research and Knowledge Exchange Strategy (2022-2029): Making a Difference. Recent success in the Research Excellence Framework 2021 has enabled us to build capacity in the RKEO and we are excited to be recruiting to a range of roles across the teams. The postholder will build and maintain relationships with key internal academic and professional services colleagues and relevant external stakeholders and work with them to review and enhance our existing Researcher Development Programme offering. In addition to this they will work with Colleges and Schools to support the delivery of discipline specific researcher development programmes, and work with the University’s Organisational Development team to ensure programmes reflect the needs of research engaged colleagues. They will implement effective and engaging strategies to promote researcher development activities and oversee systems to manage and report on outcomes which then inform internal and external evaluation exercises. The postholder will contribute to the development of a research environment underpinned by an inclusive research culture where colleagues are encouraged to explore their full potential including a range of research careers and opportunities.The successful candidate will have demonstrable knowledge of researcher development in research performing organisations, including the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers and the Researcher Development Framework and their role in the underpinning of research culture; and have experience in running and evaluating cross-institution researcher development programmes. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team with colleagues across the University and have excellent communication, time management and influencing skills.
