Postdoctoral -Cardiac Regeneration (proteomics) (M/ F)
Institut Curie is a major player in the research and fight against cancer. It consists of a Hospital group and a Research Center of more than 1000 employees with a strong international objective of the Research Center is to develop basic research and to use the knowledge produced to improve the diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutics of cancers as part of the continuum between basic research and innovation serving the patient.
Laboratory
We are looking for a highly motivated and productive post-doctoral fellow to join our team “Mechanisms of Cardiac Regeneration” headed by Phong NGUYEN (), at Institut Curie, Paris, France. Our research interests focus on uncovering the factors and mechanisms that allow the zebrafish heart to naturally recover and regenerate from an injury.
The project
Our recent results have identified a number of genes that are critical for regeneration to continue. In this project, we will examine whether the identified genes and signaling pathways are also important at the protein level using mass spectrometry. Confirmed candidates will be further examined genetically using gain- and loss-of-function studies. This project will be supported by FRM (Foundation pour la Recherche Médicale) and Labex DEEP.
Training and Skills required:
We are looking for a postdoc in cardiac regeneration (proteomics based) candidate:
- The candidate should hold a PhD in biology, cell biology, biochemistry or related areas.
- Fresh PhD graduates or with up to 3 years of postdoctoral experience. Applicants are invited to indicate the specific level of experience in these subjects.
o Expertise in generating proteomic datasets using mass spectrometry. Highly desirable if they have experience in proximity labeling approaches such as BioID or TurboID
o Expertise in validating proteomic datasets using techniques such as co-immunoprecipitation and immuno staining
o Proficient in molecular biology skills such as cloning, PCR and western blot
o Proficient in analyzing proteomic datasets
o Desirable but not necessary: experience in working with primary tissue, animal work or zebrafish handling
- Language skills: Fluency in English. French is a plus.
Abilities
- Ability to work independently, organize and manage tasks and be willing to working in a team.
- Ability to effectively communicate in the form of writing, oral presentations, supervising students
- The candidate should be highly motivated, curious, and enthusiastic to work in a collaborative team.
