Ca’ Foscari invites applications for a Full Professor of History of Architecture.

Ca’ Foscari is looking for a Full Professor of History of Architecture capable of inspiring students to become game-changers in their own fields and to make a genuine difference in the world. 

The selection procedure is open to candidates who have obtained the National Academic Qualification referred to in art. 16 of Law 240/2010 for the functions of Full Professors and for the academic recruitment field (settore concorsuale) of the call or for the other academic recruitment fields belonging to the same group (macrosettore concorsuale).

Academics holding a position of Full Professor in Italy (professore o professoressa di prima fascia) or an equivalent position in other countries cannot participate to this procedure.

The teaching commitment consists of 120 hours about History of Architecture the Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral courses of the Department, in particular:

- Storia dell’architettura contemporanea;

- Storia dell’architettura moderna.

The researcher will teach in Italian and in English.

The scientific commitment will concern the history of building activities and other activities related to the creation and transformation of the environment in relation to the political, economic, social and cultural framework of the different epochs. It should also focus on the critical study of architecture, examined in its context with reference to its causes, programs and meanings and its use, on the representation of architecture, on construction techniques and on the history of architectural theories.

This position is at the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage, whose aim is to provide students with the knowledge to develop those interpretive, critical, analytical and communication skills that are necessary to understand and navigate the complexities of life in the 21st century.
