Ca’ Foscari invites applications for a position as Full Professor of Applied economics

Ca’ Foscari is looking for a Full Professor of Applied economics capable of inspiring students to become game-changers in their own fields and to make a genuine difference in the world. 

The selection procedure is open to candidates who have obtained the national academic qualification referred to in art. 16 of Law 240/2010 for the functions of Full Professors and for the academic recruitment field (settore concorsuale) of the call or for the other academic recruitment fields belonging to the same group (macrosettore concorsuale).

Academics holding a position of Full Professor in Italy (professore o professoressa di prima fascia) or an equivalent position in other countries cannot participate to this procedure.

The teaching commitment will focus on courses of applied economics, in Italian and English. 

The candidate will carry out research in industrial economics and industrial policy, to be declined in the study of production sectors, the analysis of the functioning and regulation of markets, as well as in the evaluation of innovation policies.

The professor will contribute to the promotion of an innovation ecosystem on the territory which, together with public institutions, economic, productive and professional organizations, becomes an accelerator of projects aimed at technology transfer and knowledge exploitation.

The researcher's activity will require the dissemination of the results obtained through the publication of articles in leading scientific journals and monographic studies, as well as through participation in conferences and research projects, the promotion of initiatives on the territory for the dissemination of research, and the commitment to dialogue with innovation governance institutions.

The position will be in the Department of Economics, a centre that carries out innovative research in fields such as economics, finance, statistics and mathematics, covering all the legal, social, international, and environmental aspects of these disciplines. 

The Department has recently received a “Department of Excellence” Award by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research. The Excellence Award has allowed the department to receive additional state funding to develop innovative projects on Economic and Risk Analytics for public policies.

The Department offers Bachelor, Master and PhD programmes taught entirely in English. Numerous internships opportunities abroad, more than 40 Erasmus+ destinations, prestigious partnerships, Double and Joint degree programmes with some of the most important universities worldwide all contribute to the international dimension that has always characterized Ca' Foscari.
