Ca’ Foscari invites applications for a position as Full Professor of International law

Ca’ Foscari is looking for a Full Professor of International law capable of inspiring students to become game-changers in their own fields and to make a genuine difference in the world. 

The selection procedure is open to candidates who have obtained the national academic qualification referred to in art. 16 of Law 240/2010 for the functions of Full Professors and for the academic recruitment field (settore concorsuale) of the call or for the other academic recruitment fields belonging to the same group (macrosettore concorsuale).

Academics holding a position of Full Professor in Italy (professore o professoressa di prima fascia) or an equivalent position in other countries cannot participate to this procedure.

The teaching commitment shall focus on courses and subjects consistent with International Law at the Bachelor, Master, and PhD level, in Italian and English.

With regard to the scientific commitment, the candidate will develop research and publications in International Law. The candidate is expected to have proven scientific expertise and teaching skills consistent with International Law with particular reference to International Human Rights Law and other legal topics consistent with the activities of the Department of Economics at Ca’ Foscari University Venice.

The activity of the professor will include the dissemination of the results obtained through the publication of scientific monographs or articles in top-level specialized scientific journals, as well as the participation in conferences and research projects.

The position will be in the Department of Economics, a centre that carries out innovative research in fields such as economics, finance, statistics and mathematics, covering all the legal, social, international, and environmental aspects of these disciplines. 

The Department has recently received a “Department of Excellence” Award by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research. The Excellence Award has allowed the department to receive additional state funding to develop innovative projects on Economic and Risk Analytics for public policies.

The Department offers Bachelor, Master and PhD programmes taught entirely in English. Numerous internships opportunities abroad, more than 40 Erasmus+ destinations, prestigious partnerships, Double and Joint degree programmes with some of the most important universities worldwide all contribute to the international dimension that has always characterized Ca' Foscari.
